Lions claim rookie receiver Chris Lacy off waivers

The Lions claimed rookie receiver Chris Lacy off waivers from the Patriots, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Lacy, 22, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State on May 11.

He caught 63 passes for 920 yards and five touchdowns in 32 college games. Lacy also returned six kickoffs for 97 return yards.

The single, I kind of looked over at him just to see if he’d smile and think that bloop single was funny at all. He didn’t, Crawford said. “The homer, I didn’t look at him at all.”

The shortstop doesn’t plan to bring it up with Cole when the families meet up in the offseason.

“It’s frustrating, especially coming from Nebraska where I was the guy, I knew I was going to get the ball at least 20 times a game,” Abdullah said. “For me, it’s not necessarily getting a certain number of touches. It’s getting meaningful touches…That’s where it gets kind of frustrating.”

Abdullah averaged 3.3 yards per carry in 2017 but scored a career-high four touchdowns. He said it was difficult for him to find a rhythm.

“The coaches, I trust their game plan, they’re much smarter than me,” Abdullah said. “But it’s hard when I come in, I get a carry and break it for about 10 yards, then I come out for about three plays, then I’ve got to come in to pass protect, then I don’t get my next carry until, like, the next quarter.”

Abdullah, who has totaled 1,250 rushing yards in 32 career games, said he has appreciated his time with the Lions.ravens_070
